Waste Oil to Base oil Plant

Used oil re-refining is the process of restoring used oil to new oil by removing chemical impurities, heavy metals and dirt.Used industrial and automotive oil is recycled at re-refineries. The used oil is first tested to determine suitability for re-refining, after which it is dehydrated and the water distillate is treated before being released into the environment. Dehydrating also removes the residual light fuel that can be used to power the refinery, and additionally captures ethylene glycol for re-use in recycled antifreeze.

Next, industrial fuel is separated out of the used oil then vacuum distillation removes the lube cut (that is, the fraction suitable for reuse as lubricating oil) leaving a heavy oil that contains the used oil's additives and other by-products such as asphalt extender. The lube cut next undergoes hydro treating, or catalytic hydrogenation to remove residual polymers and other chemical compounds, and saturate carbon chains with hydrogen for greater stability.

Final oil separation, or fractionating, separates the oil into three different oil grades: Light viscosity lubricants suitable for general lubricant applications, low viscosity lubricants for automotive and industrial applications, and high viscosity lubricants for heavy-duty applications. The oil that is produced in this step is referred to as re-refined base oil (RRBL).

Application

PurePath has resigned the re-refining technologies for used lubricating oil to produce near virgin quality base oil ranging from SN80 to SN500 by using different technolologies Such as full continuous distillation, wiped film evaporation and short path distillation. In the meanwhile, we have aslo developed base oil solvent extraction plant to help you to get rid of annoying clay refining system and allow you to refine the base oil to meet API group 1+ standards.

PPGT-BP Waste Lubricating Oil Re-refining plant is specially targeting for waste motor oil, hydraulic oil, crackcase oil, gearbox oil, transmission oil,  slop oil and crude oil etc.. PPGT-BP waste oil refinery help relieving energy crisis as well as creating profits with a low operation cost.

Working Principle

PPGT-BP Waste Oil Re-Refining Plant may be consisted of the following systems;

1. Dehydration & Sendimentation System;

2. LGO Stripping System;

3. Fractionating & Reflux System; Thin Film Evaporation System; Short Path Distillation System;

4. Heaters & Heat  Exchangers;

5. Base Oil Poshing System;

6. PLC/Scada Control System;

Extended Information

  1. What are commonly used heating methods in waste oil refineries?

    There are three major heating methods which are commonly used in waste oil refineries. Electrical heating, Boiler and Furnace. Electrical heater is more often to be used in small scale of waste oil refinieries. The advantage of electrical heater is that it does have a wide range of heating temperature and it is an economic solution for using in small scale refineries.

    On another hand, Hot oil boiler can be used in either of medium to large scale of waste oil refineries. Heating by boilel in heat exchangers are a very common way of heating in petrochemical industry. It is safe, efficient and controllable. However, most of hot oil boilers have a limit of heating tempeature which is below 380-350℃.

    The furnace are usually used in large scale of waste oil refineries. It also has a wide range of heating temperature and there's no requirement for thermal oil consumption comparing with hot oil boiler. However the furnace is usally in 18-20 meters tall.

  2. What are the categories of waste produced from waste oil refinery?

    Those waste are generally in 4 categories: gas, oily water, oil sludge and used adsorbents.The gas can be purified before emission or to be burned in a furnace;The oil sludge can be used for burning or as raw material for making bitumen; the oily water has to be purified by particular facilities or handed to the professional recycler; the used adsorbent can be used for burning or handed to the professional recycler.

  3. What will the yield of base oil and byproducts from PurePath waste oil refinery?

    The typical yield of waste oil refinery will be as following: 75% of base oil; 5% of water & light ends; 7% of light gas oil; 13% of oil sludge;

  4. What is the quality of base oil to be produced by your machine?

    The quality of base oil is able to meet API group 1 and 1+ standards which could be as good as the virgin base oil after PurePath unique refining process. Those base oil can be either sold directly or to be further blended with additives for making new engine oil.

    Please be freely to contact our sales representative for test reports of the base oil which was produced by our waste oil refineries.

  5. What is the location of your factory, how can I get there?

    PurePath is located in Chongqing city (Southwest of China).The nearest airport is Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.
